Every now and then you need to connect to your server in order to upload files and folder after making small and/or big changes in your website. (Although this does’nt applies to people who are using WordPress or like services) but still you need FTP client to log into your system in some point in time.

net2ftp, a web based FTP client which function as a normal FTP client means that net2ftp runs on a web server, and that you use a browser for connecting and/or uploading, downloading files & folder from server to your PC or vice versa.

Create Website Background Patterns with BGPatterns

BgPatterns is a Web based tiled backgrounds designer, create any pattern your site needs within just few minutes.

The look & feel of the pattern can be totally customized via a web based interface. You can even see how it will look, by modifying the pattern to your needs and clicking on “Apply” button, it will apply the pattern to the current web page’s background where you can test and modify it to best suit of your website design.

You can control the design by applying different options like Adjustable size, pictures, colors, texture and transparency. There are a lot of browsers out there, as a designer/developer you need to make sure that your website looks same in all major browsers, if not in all. There are a plenty of browsers out there major browsers are Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, Chrome, opera, Netscape etc. so the Cross-browser compatibility is one of the most difficult issues when it comes to web-development.

So the question how do you check the site in these browsers? You have 2 options; either install a number of web browsers or use web-based browser test services. And the obvious option for most of us is the second one.

BrowserShots.org is an online tool that lets you test your web-sites not only in all major browsers like Firefox, Opera, IE and Safari, but also in some strange and not so popular browsers like Dillo, SeaMonkey, Iceape, W3M etc.

You have the options to test against

width of the screen size (640 – 1600 pixel)
color depth (8 – 32 bits per pixel)
JavaScript (1.3 – 2.0)
Java (disabled or enabled) and
Flash (5-10v)

When you submit your URL, it will start taking the screenshots in all browsers you choose; it will take estimated time 3 – 53 minutes based on the load on the server. After few minutes it will generates the screens of how your site will look in different browsers you selected in first step. You can observe it online or you can also download all screenshots in a .zip-file for later review.

Create your Pre Loader images on the fly

With increase use of Web 2 and AJAX websites, the websites are now becoming mature and you no longer see blank web pages while you click on links. You still need your visitors to show something while your page loads these images are called pre loader images.

www.ajaxload.info is a good source of getting such pre loader images with few simple clicks. These images are animated GIF images which are pre build. There are only 3 steps (2 are optional) to create your pre loader images.

Select a indicator type (select from the 37 given indicators)
Select background color or Transparent
Select foreground color and click on “Generate it” to generate your own pre loader image

After reviewing you can download the image and use on your website.
